Hey! So during my travels through Europe I was often taking a lot of video footage. I had been working on said video at the end of June, but when my camera was stolen, I suddenly stopped going back to my work. I started focusing on other things. I really miss making videos! So I finally did it, I finally finished it.
So here it is! My adventure in film. Hope you enjoy it!
Last week while browsing the endless waves of the internet I stumbled upon this amazing short video. It’s not exactly for the faint of heart, but if you dig film making and appreciate a great piece of work, check it out!
So maybe we’re all “so over” music videos. Remember when you used to watch them after school? The countdowns? Oh the excitement we once held so deep in our hearts for MTV and MuchMusic. It’s still there. But for the most part if I want to see a music video I scope it out on youtube. I thoroughly enjoy Deerhunter‘s helicopter. And look! There is a video! I seem to enjoy strange things and images…which this video seems to contain.
Something that I came across the other day was this little treat. I love Panda Bear so much, I can’t really explain. Something about the music seems to make me happy. I could listen all day. Also there is something nostalgic about the sound.
I reccomend you make this full screen while you watch. Anything else you choose to partake in during this experience is your own doing…
Of course I browse a lot of blogs. And have an obsession with a certain dude from South Carolina.
Perhaps you remember my little run in with Toro Y Moi last summer? If you don’t this video reminds me that we had a pizza party. Funny thing is, I remember a polaroid camera, but a video camera? Don’t exactly recall that.
Either way, I’m super stoked I found the video! Makes me miss summer time even more.
Saving moments in life via video camera seems like a solid way to go about things.
Exciting things happening here in Centretown! We now have cable and internet as of this afternoon…and the Toro Y Moi and Caribou show went down successfully. I have some lovely notes on my fridge from the boys of Toro Y Moi to prove it!
They are lovely gentlemen !
loveliness from sweet boys
If you were there you are probably just as happy as I am. I don’t think there was a single sad face in the crowd, I mean, how can you be sad when there is amazing music being fed to your ears? To those who did not have a ticket: I apologize. But it really was packed…I was crammed between some very sweaty people, and the guy you see at every show ever. He’s awesome, by the way…I hope you know who I’m talking about!
Hopefully I can scan some [stolen] polaroids taken to post here, but until then, keep listening to Chaz’s sweet voice…
After a night of dancing, polaroids, video-making and hanging out with awesome people, I really needed a day to relax. Oh, and have a delicious bbq featuring friends and wine.
The xx have been such a sensation the past year you might even be bored of them already. The nonchalant voices, the sexy beats, they can get tiring, right? Either way, I can still thoroughly enjoy the album in its entirety. The trick is not to wear it out. Oh, and don’t listen to it with a boyfriend/girlfriend. That could ruin it due to the sexiness if the relationship ends. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I’m not going to lie, islands is probably one of the best tracks on their album. And now there is a video that involves odd choreography, people wearing black, kissing, and fire. What’s not to love? Oddly enough, I find the backdrop to look like a Louis Vuitton bag, but instead of the classic LV, we see x’s.
I’m a big Horse Feathers fan, and Words are Dead is something else. Justin Ringle’s voice blows my mind, and I’m pretty impressed with their newest album Thistled Spring. If it takes you a few rounds I understand. But they had me at hello.
Give it a listen…it’s a Tuesday and it’s worth it.
And there is snow on the ground in Ottawa today. Can you believe it? I can’t…mainly because I was in shorts and sandals just a few short days ago. Mother nature seems to be in tune with my mood, but I wish it wasn’t this way.
