OSHEAGA & life

Osheaga was awesome. I was mighty dirty by the end of it, but it was well worth it! The heat was intense, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves. I love Montreal too much. When I am no longer just a short bus ride away, that might be devastating. But Ottawa won’t be my city forever. I’m afraid I will be following the mob to Toronto by next year.

What a wonderful weekend off. Now it’s back to the real world. Job hunting and figuring out life for the first time.

In other news – I did have a job interview. I don’t know how it went, but I feel pretty good about it. Just trying to build up my experience, that’s pretty key right now, being a graduate and all.

Hoping to get some more new things up in the coming weeks. I’ve been lacking inspiration due to sudden changes in life. I’m adjusting quite well. But I can’t believe summer is coming to a close! It feels like it was just yesterday that I was pulling my bikinis out of storage! I need to soak up some more sun before fall hits. And I have some great summer pieces that aren’t ready to take a break! Although I must admit, I do love a chunky cardigan and some knee high boots…

Woah Bluesfest

It’s that time of year again. The line up has been released and then I go a little bit crazy. Mainly because I am a 15 minute walk away from this music festival that I love. While I was seriously considering Osheaga…Bluesfest has swept me away once again.

I mean, have you seen who’s coming? I think I’ll be getting my hands on a festival pass, same routine as last year. So much happiness can be sprung from one announcement. Click me!  <<< schedule.

So many choices, and a step up when it comes to the electro scene. Skrillex? Infected Mushroom? Girl Talk?

Yes! But as much as I love to dance, I’m really stoked that M. Ward will be hitting the stage. When I found him my heart may have skipped a beat.

And a little throwback to when I was 15 or so and had a massive crush on the lead singer of Three Day Grace. Don’t care about anything, I am going…and I’ll have flashbacks of the music videos and being an emo teenager with nothing to do.

There is so much more I could rant about, really. I could go on and on for days about Ra Ra Riot and Buck 65 but I won’t.

SO…Who are YOU most excited to check out this summer?

Me being uber-pumped for bluesfest pt. one

I know what you’re thinking. It’s April. Bluesfest is in July.

But I really am looking forward to it. I currently have all my tickets sitting right in front of me. They are beautiful.

So why am I excited? First of all have you seen the line up? Why aren’t you excited?? [if you’re not already, like myself]

My plans for this summer included Osheaga, and yes, while I would still love to go, work and saving of money compel me not to. And Bluesfest also helped me feel better about most likely missing it. That is…if I do miss it. It’s really all a balancing act.

One of the acts that made me very excited = Bear in Heaven

Very much enjoyable, and I’ve only heard good things about their live performances. So it should be amazing. Basically, July 10th is going to be a day you won’t want to miss:

Basia Bulat @ 1:45 pm

That’s the Spirit @ 5:00 pm

Bear in Heaven @ 5:45 pm

Metric @ 7:00 pm

Passion Pit @ 8:30 pm

The Flaming Lips @ 9:30 pm

I think I may have to ditch some over others, but I will survive. If you were wondering what I would choose as the top to see…..I’d say Bear in Heaven & The Flaming Lips. Fingers crossed that Yeasayer gets thrown in the mix in the near future, seeing as bands have yet to be announced!

Well, enough distractions. I must continue packaging my life so it is fit to travel to Centretown!

More of me being overcome with excitement to come – guaranteed.
