Deflect

Shades in the summer are necessary, but I like to keep the glare out of my eyes in the winter too.

Here’s what you SHOULD be shielding those baby blues with…

The Lennon shades are back in action.

I dig the Ray-Bans

Classic Wayfarer always has my vote. I prefer brown.

These cat eye shades really got me, too

Because a pair of hot shades can really make a difference!

As one of my favourite accessories, no matter what the season, I recommend investing in a nice pair. But take care of them, a pair of shades is the easiest thing to destroy at the bottom of your bag!

Because I love Sleigh Bells. A lot.

Pretty in pink

I’ve done it! I’ve set my MAC red aside and turned to something a little lighter.

MAC full speed – it’s sheen supreme lipstick, and it’s rather cute. I don’t normally go for light pink lips but I thought with spring coming, I should give it a try.

MAC is also introducing a new line of spring lip colours this week I am itching to get my hands on. The guy who helped me pick out full speed said it’s pretty similar to the new line.

Here are some of the colours set to hit MAC stores this Thursday.

I can’t lie, I love them.

Floral dresses in the winter

This might not seem practical, especially living in Ottawa! But I have found a way to make it work and actually stay warm. It is the wonderful thing that is called layering. Mastering the art of layering is tricky, and sometimes leaves you looking like a hobo. But fear not…there are way around this.

This is my favourite look this winter!

Start with tights and socks.

H&M tights are pretty thick!

But if you want to pair them with knee highs, I strongly suggest a skin toned tight, makes for a better look.

Calvin Klein

Time to put on the dress! Oh floral print, how I love you.

But if there is one rule, avoid floral tank dresses. Much too summery for right now, despite all the layering ahead! I prefer short sleeved and flowy!

Not exactly floral, but this is the style I usually go for..

Urban Outfitters

Now we’ve got the dress, time to add some denim. What did you expect, especially from myself!?

Baggy is better. My favourite oversized denim shirt is by Ralph Lauren. So delicious. Also, light wash is preferable in my case. Oh, and always leave the denim undone, so as to show off the dress!

Top Shop

Up next, a cardigan on a chilly day. The chunkier the better.

love all of these styles! via Refinery29

Now for the finishing touches before heading out the door!

1. A good boot

Aldo

My feet cannot lie…these boots are to die for. I love love love them! Best of my purchases this winter, and pretty impressive for Aldo.

Nine West

2. A sweet scarf

Urban Outfitters

Cable knit rules. No questions.

3. A long jacket

Nothing like a killer wool jacket to keep you warm and fuzzy.

Timberland

Your look is complete. Hope you like it!

face-off

Today I have a little sharing to do, because sharing is caring…

My current favourites in blush, bronzers, and the like.

Because winter skin is the worst. And I don’t believe in tanning beds anymore. I was once a golden girl back in my teenage years, but skin cancer runs in the family so I’d rather not risk it!

My sister got this for me not too long ago and I can’t get enough of it! I use it on the daily. Best trio a girl can find. Plus I love Benefit, especially their mascara.

I’m also a big fan of stila! You might grimace at the price, but I swear to you, your face is worth it!

I might gush over my trio up there, but for every day I love gingerly, by Mac. If you’re light skinned and have auburn hair like me, you should too! Goes well with Mac red lips and heavy mascara!

My bronzer has been the same since seventh grade. I’m not kidding…

It’s the only thing in my make-up bag I don’t spend ridiculous amount of money on. So at least I’m saving in one department.

What works for you?

February already?

My life has recently become a blur!

Especially the past few days, thanks to a poorly times liver infection. I’ve been spending time in bed with unpronounceable medications and pain killers that make me feel extra drowsy.

I am currently spending some time in the wonderful Montreal, unfortunately I am confined to my boyfriends bedroom with a lot of liquids and rest. This is sad, because all I want to do is go shopping, get a latte, and even do my homework. You’d be surprised at how doing nothing can make you have a sudden desire to do everything!

I’ve been extremely happy with my radio productions thus far, but luckily this week I will at least get to help out with the music editor. Luckily I am a big fan of Canadian music and know a lot of instrumental bands off hand.

Moving on. Obviously this winter has been confusing at the least. But as long as I get my knits, I am a happy girl!

A favourite of mine was actually stumbled upon at forever 21. A cute puppy managed to get his claws into it too soon, but I think I salvaged it to the best of my ability.

And as for what I am currently drooling over…

Stefanel S/S 2012. Keep dreaming. But hey! The new Urban Outfitters catalogue is out and I like what I see. I’ll be doing yet another cleaning of my closet to welcome a few new pieces. If I feel better tomorrow I might even hit up downtown Montreal for a quick peak into UO and H&M.
